Summary
The Guard II will carry out instructions primarily oriented toward insuring that emergencies and security violations are readily discovered and reported to the appropriate authorities. Intervene directly only in situations that require minimal action to safeguard property or persons. Provide personnel monitoring support for multiple contractors and vendors that do not have the required security clearance for access to MDA facilities (uncleared personnel). Remain with uncleared individuals for the duration of their work within MDA facilities. Facility monitoring support service personnel shall be required to execute other duties to support other facilities management and facilities support functions, as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following:
Provides clear direction, information and assistance to client visitors, guests, contractors, vendors, and employees in a professional, pleasant and courteous fashion.
Controls access to and monitors construction sites. Reports issues to management.
Visually inspects all visitor, vendor, contractor, and employee access badges to verify that the authorized holder is the individual presenting the badge to prevent unauthorized access to the property.
Maintains surveillance and reports any suspicious persons, vehicles and/or packages.
Assists site personnel in providing proper instructions and directions during emergencies.
Patrols the construction site on a regular basis.
Maintains an active presence at the access gates to transport non-cleared personnel.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Comply with MDA Instruction 5210.01-INS, Physical Security Program, January 9, 2019.
Contractor personnel shall present a neat appearance and be easily recognized as contractor employees by wearing contractor-provided uniform collared shirts. Steel toed footwear is required for all personnel.
Personnel shall display the MDA security badge at all times.
Guard personnel shall be U.S. citizens unless otherwise stated in individual Task Order(s).
Guard personnel shall not release information to the public prior to receiving written authorization from the MDA program office (this requirement includes any information system that provides public access).

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have an active Secret Security clearance.
Must have strong attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
